I started to work on the next assignment last night.    It roughly needs to cover the following:

  • Analyse the existing causal models between what is measured from a performance appraisal point of view and what the objectives of the organisation are.
  • Propose a model through which systems thinking can enhance the alignment between measurement and objective outcome, thus narrowing the gap between the organisational intent and its behaviour.

My employer has a relatively complex appraisal method, so it will be interesting to work this one through.

I have just completed and submitted my "Introduction to Futures Studies" assignment.   I based the assignment around a "Prognosis for Tanzania".

The assignment was not easy.   I have spend hours and hours on it.   It was fun to do it, but it included a huge amount of late nights and busy weekends.   I even had a sleepless night or two!

I am tired and am looking forward to the long weekend ahead.   Well only the weekend and then the next assignment starts.   ... and I do this because?...    :)

My next assignment is covering a prognosis for Tanzania.     I am struggling a little to get my mind around all the content, but this is part of the research and I am enjoying it.  :)

The techniques learned from the "scanning the environment" assignment is already coming to good play.    It now also makes sense to me why the scanning module had to be done first before this specific assignment.

It is actually amazing how much really good and reliable *1 content is available when you start to dig around.    I guess this might be true for research related information, but this will be dwarfed against the "inutile"*2 information floating in the web.
